This was once the center for feeding harvest crews, canning, making jam,
and preserving the bounty of the farm. Today, it still boasts a kitchen,
now modern with cherry cabinets and well-equipped for those who enjoy cooking.
A large sitting and eating area adjoins the kitchen. Pictures of early farm
life grace the walls, and an antique pickle sign hangs as a reminder of
the cottage’s former life.

Upstairs, guests will find a comfortable king-sized bed. The adjoining,
large bath features a claw-foot tub that begs you to relax in a lavender-scented
bath. We provide the salts. The bedroom is decorated with bits and pieces
of the past, from a touching, hand-colored wedding portrait to a dress form
from the turn of the century.

A few steps off the bedroom is a balcony looking east over our Mill Creek
estate vineyard. It is a perfect place on a warm night for holding hands
and counting stars. If you’re more of a morning person, the balcony
is aligned perfectly with the sunrise.

This was the first of the accommodations to be renovated on the property
and was the recipient of the 1997 Walla Walla 2020 Award for Architectural
Restoration.
